April: For 3rd grade Sydney was told as a school assignment that she needed to memorize a poem and have some sort of art work to accompany it.
So Jake helped draw the shape of the octopus and Sydney painted it in (I helped at one point, because it got really late and she needed to go to bed).
Over the course of two weeks we practiced the poem to the point where all 3 kiddos could repeat it.
Octopus:
The arms on the octopus number eight: one, two three, four, five, six, seven, eight!
All curled up and pointing straight, one, two three, four, five, six, seven, eight!
In the ocean, octopuses wait, one, two three, four, five, six, seven, eight!
For clams and crabs to put on their plate! One, two three, four, five, six, seven, eight!
she also had to make another poster about specific math facts. And she drew it pretty well.
