Christmas

This year was Christmas with Jake's family. We spent it with Lydia and Scott in Hurricane. We traveled down on Christmas Eve so we wouldn't have to wake up early Christmas, pack the car and drive down.
Before we left for Hurricane; Jake, Sydney, and I all opened up our stockings, which had all the presents we were giving each other this year. It was so fun to watch Jake help Sydney open her presents. I guess the first Christmas with a child (especially a young one) is an adventure because we weren't sure what would happen, but it was fun anyway. After we opened all our gifts, we packed the car, and headed down south.

It turned we didn't get much sleep anyway. Christmas Eve was really enjoyable. We went to bed around midnight. We had to take the dogs with us but we kept them out back in the dog run so we wouldn't have to worry about them ruining all the pretty wrapping. So when we went to bed we decided that we would have the dogs sleep in the bedroom with us because it was really cold outside. Well Sydney was already asleep and the dogs were already in the room when Jake and I went to go to sleep. Then it got really noisy. We took the dogs out to go to the bathroom and the little dogs that Lydia has woke the entire house up from all the barking. I felt so bad. Throughout the night we let the dogs out like 3 times. The third time I had Jake just put them back outside, they were causing to much trouble and we couldn't sleep. Jake of course couldn't sleep anyway. So around 2:30 AM Jake and Lydia and I were downstairs talking while trying to get the little dogs calmed down again.
The next morning around 7:30 AM we went downstairs and looked through our stockings while waiting for Scotts' children (Aaron and Ashley) to come over. They got there about 8:30 AM. From there it was wrapping paper everywhere and everyone talking. Sydney got some cool toys that she will love to play with when she has a better attention span. The only thing that Sydney got from "Santa" was a gift my Grandma Arnold and all the aunts on the Arnold side gave us for the baby shower. It was a jumper chair. At first she didn't quite know what to do and she was a little to short to reach the floor but we figured out if we put blankets underneath she can reach with her feet and bounce. She currently enjoys it.
Later Christmas evening we came home and slept.

Sydney got a solar system for Christmas. We hung it up. There are stars and planet stickers all over the ceiling. Everything glows in the dark. Its really cool looking.
