Christmas Day

William woke up, and when he wakes up he always comes and wakes me up. So I told him to stay in his room, til his sisters woke up. Which only twenty minutes. So we all got up and headed out to the living room together.

The kids started with their stockings. They were so excited with all the stuff in them. We always give the kids paper bags with their names on it so they can put all their stuff in there as they open it so it doesn't get lost. Because once the stockings are emptied, Jake and I take them and put them away.

They got jewelry, and stuffed animals, and pop its, and so much more stuff in their stockings.

Once they were done with their stockings, and we had that all cleaned up. We headed to the tree to see what Santa brought. Santa gave each of the kids a Lego kit. We love Legos. 

After Santa the kids all gave Jake their Christmas gifts to him and each other.
Lizzy gave him a Home Depot gift card, with the expectation that when he went to use it he would take her with, kind of like a Daddy-Daughter date.
William gave Jake a motorcycle bottle top opener.
Sydney gave Jake a gift certificate to a painting session at Easely Paint Studio. Daddy-Daughter date style.
Lizzy gave William a Minecraft Lego set. Lizzy gave Sydney glow up gloves.
William gave Lizzy a microphone. William gave Sydney a scratch off notepad.
Sydney gave William a tractor Lego set. Sydney gave Lizzy a toy kitchen coffee maker.

It's so cute how excited they are to give each other their gifts. I love it.

Now it was time to open all the presents from Jake and I.

The first gift was a stuffed body part. We found this website (https://iheartguts.com/) that sells any anatomical body part as a stuffed pillow. So Sydney got an heart. Lizzy got an intestine. William got a skin cell. Sydney got a heart because on her Christmas wish list she asked for a heart stuffy. So Jake decided to be funny and went to an anatomical heart. After that it was all down hill. We decided it would be fun for each of the kids to get one. So Lizzy got an intestine, a pun to her constipation issues. And we couldn't figure out what we should do for William, so we decided on a skin cell because it looked funny.

We gave the girls a bunch of barbies for Christmas, because they have been fighting over the couple we have, wanting more accessories, and also we were hoping to give them something to be able to play together with. We even got the girls new containers to put all their barbie stuff in.

William got this little car track that you use magnets and little levers to move the cars around the track with.

Each of the kids got some kind of artwork for their wall. Jake had gone to a work get together, and then ended up doing a painting thing, so he painted her a horse. So we found Lizzy this cow sign, because she loves cows. And William got a dinosaur footprint with a hook on it for his backpack.

Next was the box of clothes and shoes they got. They each got a Mario sweatshirt.

Each kid got a photo album to store all the printed photos they have.

Once the kids finished opening their gifts from Jake and I, it was time to open up Nana's gift.
Lydia knew that I wanted to get the kids skateboards, and Jake and were doing some research. So we found them and she paid for them. That was so sweet of her. The kids were really surprised and excited.
Each of the kids boards got wrapped differently, because we didn't have big/long enough boxes. So for Sydney's' to make it easier to wrap and not have the paper ripping, we had to put toilet paper and paper towels and extra wrapping paper under the wheels and on the bottom to try and make it more cylindrical. It was so funny watching her unwrap it.

Lydia's gift to Jake and I were these fleese blankets turned sweater style things. They were pull overs so Jake was trying to get me to put zippers on them.

And then after everything was all cleaned up. The kids had opened all their stuff. Jake and I opened our gifts from each other, including what we put in each others stockings.
We got a lot of fun stuff. Jake gave me cute cat earrings, among lots of other things.
I gave him a new mouse, a gripper for his workshop, some clothes, and a new air purifier. Some new fidget toys for his desk, and a bike night light.
Jake gave me some earrings (cats and sunflowers), the complete dvd set of Anne of Green Gables (the one with Megan Follows), a waterproof cover for my camera to use when it's raining, and still allows me to put my hands in to use the camera, knew kitchen knives (they are supper sharp, Jake did a bunch of research to find really good/affordable knives), a new book.

 

It was a very good Christmas. I am so grateful that Jake and I are in a situation that we can afford these things.
