Since it wasn't a year we were going to throw a big party I decided that we would just have a little family get together. So I invited Skylee (and obviously Brett and Bindy came too) and Shay & Brennan (Taran's 2 kids, and she came too) to go to the splash pad with us for the afternoon. My mom came later (my Dad was helping my Grandma Arnold out with shelving in her new house) and brought pizzas. She came about 2 1/2 hours later than i thought she would. And she got lost so between me, and Bindy, and Jake we got her to the park. And then that evening, Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma Harvey came over, and My parents, and Sarah, Spencer, and Shay to come open presents and have cake and ice cream with us. All so that Sydney would have a good birthday. Before we left for the splash pad (which caused us to be an hour late) we built a play kitchen the Nana bought for Sydney for her birthday (with the stipulation to share it). The kids really loved helping to built it. And Sydney thought it was a camper for a while til we put the top shelf on. She loved playing at the splash pad. She loved having friends to play with. But we invited everyone to the house at 7 PM, so at 6 PM my mom took Sydney with her from the splash pad so that she could take Syd bday shopping. Well they were super late. Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa sat at our house for 40 minutes before they showed up. It was super embarrassing; didn't even have the birthday girl with us for them to give her a gift. What made it worse was they had to leave at a certain time and so they only had about 20 minutes with Sydney before they had to leave. Then we did the rest of the presents to you. I think you enjoyed everything you got. Although Grandma and Grandpa thought that daddy and I were crazy to give you whoopee cushions and joke books. But you love to tell jokes and play pranks so we thought it was a really good idea. I always let the birthday kid decorate their cake (thats a tradition I started and have done the last couple years) and you love doing that. You get to go to the store and pick out the special stuff that will end up on top of the cake as well.
Made pink pancakes for breakfast was the birthday girls request. (below)
Below: Making her Cake. And Lizzy super mad I wouldn't insist Sydney had to let her help. Birthday privileges= the birthday person gets to make the final decision on who will help with the birthday cake process (mom is a given). ;)
Jake and I gave Sydney this Unicorn as a bday present; but we waited for everyone to leave first because Great Grandma Harvey also gave Sydney a unicorn for her bday. Also it has a good smelling perfume to it. (below)

My mom took Sydney shopping for her birthday gifts. So Sydney picked out a dr set, bubblegum, a pink pineapple cup, Flarp (which is like fart putty but slimier, and sticks to furniture), perfume, glitter sand, a pink lantern (which fell apart and broke the minute my dad tried to set it up), word search, and finger lights (they are colored "flash lights" that you put on your finger).
Below: Great Grandma and Grandpa Harvey gave Sydney My Little Pony pjs and a Unicorn purse/stuffy.
Below: Shaylas gift to Sydney. She got a cute outfit.
Below: some more pictures of the stuff Sydney picked out.
Below: My parents gift to Sydney. A unicorn shirt and a pair of pants.
Below: Jake and I gave Sydney two different dark blue shirts with unicorns on them, a white shirt that says "girls rule", a couple of joke books, a Joke Box (filled with different things to pull of jokes, including a hand buzzer for when you shake peoples hands, pretend throw up, pretend poop, etc (you get the picture)), and a box of whoopee cushions, and a tiny little unicorn that has a perfume smell.
