Lava Hot Springs 2019

 July 11th-13th, 2019:

We spent a couple days in Lava Hot Springs. We went to the pool and floated the river.

July 10th: The kids and I slept over at my parents house so that we could ride up with them.

July 11th:We left my parents house in the morning, and got up to Lava Hots Springs, Idaho in the early afternoon (like 2pm ish).
*I don't know why but the pictures keep getting uploaded from last to first-but if you scroll down, right before the next day begins you will see the start of this day*

We left Thursday, and got to camp. My kids were fairly good in the car. It helped that halfway through the drive (and the drive is 2 and a half hours) we stopped off at a gas station. When we got all set up at camp we headed to float down the river. It was a lot of fun. My kids always enjoy going down the river. But my mom always freaks out. So this time Sydney told my mom that she needed to relax and stop freaking out so everyone could enjoy floating down the river. It was so funny. Then mom got out to be with Oaklee so Sarah could come on the river with us.

After floating down the river for a couple hours we headed back to camp. We snacked and crafted while dinner was being made and then we roasted Marshmallows.

Lizzy was throwing a big temper tantrum so I took her on a walk for a little one on one time with me to help calm her down. I like to think it worked.

After it got dark we took a walk to the train tracks to check out the coins we laid there. The plan was to have the night trains run over them and get them back in the morning.     The kids enjoyed searching for their coins with flashlights. Cause flashlights are the best.

                                                                  *Start of day ^^^*

July 12th: we woke up and ate breakfast and got ready for the day. We headed to the pool right after breakfast. In fact William fell asleep in the car on the way to the pool, so we put him in the stroller still napping and wheeled him inside. The pool was a lot of fun. Lizzy is getting more confident on swimming on her own (with a life jacket of course) and Sydney is still really weary about getting her face wet without googles. With googles she becomes a little fish in the water. And William is still learning but he loves to be able to wear a life jacket and not to have to have anyone holding him in the water.

After the pool we headed back to camp. Had a snack and then headed to the train tracks to find our smooshed coins.

Then we got dinner at this little hot dog shack, but it took over an hour to make the food. The adults were really frustrated, but by the time we talked about leaving and just going back and making dinner it was too late. The kids were so hangry (hungry and angry) that it was getting difficult to keep them from running away; especially William and Oaklee. Eventually the food came, but it wasn't very filling. I know we were all very disappointed. The food tasted good. But for the time and money it just wasn't worth it. This was supposed to be Dad's birthday dinner and it turned out horrible. We ended up having to make more food back at camp anyway.

July 13th: After breakfast and cleaning up, we started packing and preparing to leave. It took me a little bit of time to make sure I had all my kids stuff. Since we drove with my parents I made sure all of our stuff was on the back bottom bunk, that way unpacking when we got to my parents house and into my car was a whole lot easier. Before we left, we decided to walk through town and get some Ice cream to celebrate dads birthday.
