(February) Sydney got sick with Herpes. Lizzy contracted it when she was an infant, so we don't know if when Lizzy was contagious once she transferred it to Sydney or if Sydney contracted it from somewhere else. But she has it too. Herpes is easily transferred from person to person. Saliva transfers it, so if someone touches their mouth then a door handle-BOOM-transferred.
We figured this out after 4 days of high degree fevers and just overall her not feeling well. So I took her into the clinic on Saturday and She was diagnosed within 2 minutes with Herpes. She also missed a couple days of school (good thing too) so they gave us a doctors note to give to the school to cover her absence.
Her lips got really dry and she would just sit there and pick at the sores. As you can see in the pictures, her lips looked really bad. After the fever was gone, we were told she wouldn't be contagious anymore (even with her lips looking bad and bleeding).
It took more than 3 weeks for her lips to completely heal up.
And that and the overall not feeling well was the worst for her. She never did get the white stuff in her mouth like Lizzy did (but I was told by the doctor that as kids get older and they get herpes that white stuff in the mouth doesn't really happen).
So now it's a waiting game to see if William will get it or not.
I'm just glad she is feeling back to normal.
