Chasing the Dragonfly

Saturday, October 5th,
We cleaned up the yard for fall. There was so much garbage from Uki chewing all the things up. The grass needed to be mowed for the last time of the year. And it turned out to be such a beautiful day outside. While we were cleaning up the pears and apples off the ground, we saw a dragonfly flying around in our backyard. So William went all the way inside for the fly swatter. And we chased the dragonfly around the yard. I put each kid on my shoulders and ran around chasing it. And of course we were all laughing really hard. It was fun.

After the yard was cleaned up, we headed around town looking for the orange trash bags that when filled with leaves look like pumpkins. We couldn't find any. But our trip took us into Halloween City, a store, and they always have all the blowups and things out. Well we walked in, and right in front of us was the set up and the first thing was a dog house, and we stepped on a button and a dog came shooting out. Totally made all of us jump, but Jake and I think it scared William the most. After that he refused to go near any of the scary stuff. But he wouldn't follow me around while I was walking, he wanted to watch everything from a distance. Poor kid. The girls of course, especially Lizzy, loved all of it. It's so funny to me to see how much the girls enjoy that scary stuff.
